Novel Materials Synthesis and Processing
ATREC has a team working on chemical synthesis of energetic and specialty compounds, e.g. those that stored high level of energy in their molecules. The group is equipped with basic characterization tools such as Fourier transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, Raman spectrometer, a coupled Thermogravimetry Analysis-Differential Scanning Calorimetry (TGA-DSC) instrument and Seteram C80 calorimeter, for safety assessment on our processes.
One key R&D thrust is synthesizing and crystallizing energetic materials that are greener, high in energy but stable for use. We are also building capabilities in developing specialty compounds that can aid in enhancing processing and properties of the formulations we are developing.
