SpOnsorship for Aspiring Researchers (SOAR)

The SpOnsorship for Aspiring Researchers (SOAR) is an award targeted at high calibre undergraduates in science and engineering who wish to pursue a career with ATREC.

SOAR recipients will get to interact with our research scientists and engineers. You’ll be assigned a mentor that will guide and coach you through your learning journey here.

You’ll also gain hands-on experience of life as a researcher, with the opportunity to undergo your internship here, as well as work with us during your term vacations.

Eligibility

  • Singapore citizen with pink IC
  • Tenable for the final year of study
  • Open to fields of study relevant to ATREC’s needs, namely engineering and science
  • Preference will be given to students under the URECA and UROP Programmes
  • Have obtained at least a CAP/GPA of 4.2 during application
  • Award shall be continuous until graduation

Award Term

  • Each award quantum covers all tuition and compulsory fees, with an annual allowance of up $7,200

Sponsorship Period

  • 3rd and/or 4th year of university studies

Bond

  • 1 year bond for 1 year of sponsorship

 

Research Collaboration Programmes for Undergraduates

ATREC partners the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in the Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA) programme.

Under these programmes, you will work alongside your university professors, as well as ATREC’s scientists and engineers.

Merging the best of academia and industry, these programmes allow undergraduates to touch, feel and experience research, as you participate in exciting projects with real-world applications.

ATREC-URECA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore citizen with pink IC
  • By invitation from NTU only
  • Only for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates in a 4-year programme

Research Commitment

  • Maximum of 400 hours per academic year

Allowance

  • Up to $4,800 per year, depending on number of hours clocked

Final Year Research Project Supervision

ATREC offers co-supervision for industry sponsored Final Year Projects (FYP). Many of our research scientists and engineers collaborate with the universities in NTU and NUS. Tap on our knowledge and experience, and consult them to supervise your FYP. You can approach your faculty for more details.

Internship Programme

Our Internship Programme, since its inception, has received many accolades from our past interns, many of them joined ATREC upon graduation. This programme is specially designed to ensure that you benefit from ATREC’s cooperative and nurturing environment. ATREC, being a family-like and caring company, provides you greater opportunities to interact with many of our researchers in multi-disciplinary areas.

What are the requirement for the ATREC Internship?

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore citizen with pink IC
  • Only for 2nd or 3rd year undergraduates in a 3-year or 4-year programme respectively

Internship Period

  • 22 or 24 weeks for local undergraduates in 2 intakes: January – June, and July – December
  • Shorter internships of 10 weeks duration are also available
